On this day in 1975…a marriage began

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family, marriage, milestones Leave a Comment

Today my parent’s celebrate 43 years of marriage. Here’s a look back at some grand memories from the “early days”. They still share the same smiles and twinkle!

They still attend the church they were married in, farm the land my mom’s grandparents and parents farmed and most importantly are a cornerstone of Christian marriage and true love. Marriage is complicated and takes deep commitment. My parents have taught Nathan and me so many lessons from their living example. Dad will do anything for Mom. Mom will do anything for Dad. They’re best friends and a team.Long marriages don’t come to everyone. They are a rarity in our culture. I don’t take for granted what I observe in my parents and also pray for Nathan and me to share the same lifelong love and marriage for decades to come. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for your example. We love you. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
