Three Pairs of Bison Booties Giveaway

Filed Under: Giveaways Tagged With: Monthly Giveaway, North Dakota 62 Comments

It’s time for another North Dakota giveaway. I love babies. I love North Dakota, my home state celebrating its 125th birthday this year. I love small businesses. I love working from home and supporting other women like me growing businesses from their homes, like my friend Erica of Bison Booties.
I have gotten to know Erica over the past few years in North Dakota. Her famed Bison Booties have been recognized locally and nationwide by numerous people and brands such as Martha Stewart, Country Living and on television shows like Parenthood.
Bison Booties Giveaway
My favorite Bison Booties baby is niece Nola and my sister sent me this picture early yesterday morning of her wearing her state print booties.

I love Erica’s commitment to local business and there isn’t a North Dakota baby I know that doesn’t need a pair of Bison Booties. They stay on baby’s feet and are machine washable. Plus, the fabric choices are adorable, fun and cute! We don’t just keep these fabulous hand-crafted booties in our state. We share and that’s what we are doing this weekend. Sharing!

We are giving away to THREE people, one pair of Bison Booties of your choice (or another item like the Triangle Bison Bib that my niece Nola likes to wear in the below picture.) There will be three winners and let’s consider this early Christmas shopping or a baby gift for a new baby yet to arrive. Or just spoil your favorite baby with a free pair of the best Bison Booties. Truthfully, there are even Adult and Youth sized Bison Booties. If you want a pair yourself and are a winner, you get a pair!
Bison Booties Triangle Bib
Before you enter the giveaway, learn a little about Bison Booties in this video and below are a few questions I recently asked Erica with her answers. I am so proud to honor a work-at-home mom like Erica in my home state of North Dakota, which is booming in so many areas. Erica is juggling motherhood with her two young children and growing her business, setting an example for other women across our state and country.

How did you start your business?
Before my daughter was born, we filled her nursery with items I made โ€“ gently handcrafted clothes, blankets, bibs etc. Among the keepsakes I created, we found one stand-out item we couldn’t live without. My new baby was wearing a pair of booties I made for her, and I realized that this was the greatest thing Iโ€™d ever made. These baby booties actually stayed on her feet and they were absolutely adorable. After making numerous adjustments, the first pair of ‘Bison Booties’ was born in October, 2010.
What have been rewards to growing Bison Booties?
The best thing of starting and growing Bison Booties has been the time I get to spend with my children (Kya is 4 years old and Gavin just turned 1). I also am incredibly grateful for the many amazing women I have met and become friends with โ€” weather they are customers, sewists, retailers that sell Bison Booties, or other entrepreneurs โ€” they are each inspiring and special to me.
What are challenges?
The biggest challenge has been keeping a healthy balance between family time and Bison Booties time … and sleep. Since Bison Booties is based in my home studio, this can be especially difficult. I try to combine family and work when I can and when it works for us. For example, there is a corner of the Bison Booties studio with a table for the kids to be creative with crayons, paper, and a lifetime supply of fabric scraps.
Have you always wanted to own a business? Yes and no. As a little girl I was definitely the kid in my front yard selling lemonade. But later on in college I never had the dream of owning a business. Looking back, it’s shockingly clear that the experiences, jobs, and education I gained, would fit together perfectly for an entrepreneur … but at the time I definitely didn’t plan on going that direction. It’s funny how things happen as they are supposed to. What are tips you have to work at homes moms? Definitely make friends and connect with other mompreneurs. Early on in my business I connected by chance with an old acquaintance who was also just starting her business. We have become great friends both in business and as moms, chatting weekly about everything from wholesaling to potty training our kids.

Now after hearing Erica’s story and passion, you want a pair of Bison Booties to wear yourself, for your baby ,grand-baby or for another favorite baby.

I am going to try Rafflecopter for this giveaway. If you don’t like it, let me know but this gives you SIX options to enter and I think this will be fun and easy.
First, leave a comment with your favorite baby item, whether you have babies or not! Plus there are Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook additional entries you can receive! You can tweet every day to receive additional entries and share with friends for more entries. I will announce the winners on Tuesday, September 23 morning and each winner gets credit to shop Bison Booties for your new pair of booties or a bib.
What’s your favorite baby item?

I loved the bison booties, I bought every size for my first born, now my second is getting hand me downs. A fresh pair for the new one would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚ my favorite baby item has been my pump, kinda strange? But I feel so close to my babies when I can continue giving them the milk even when I go back to work.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
