Sweet Sixteen

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family 1 Comment

We kicked off a new chapter. Kindergarten for Miss E. 10th grade for Hunter. And two days a week at home solo with me for Miss A. School started on the prairie yesterday, with the warmest temperatures of the summer.

And today?Back to School

Hunter turned sweet 16 years old. While I could gush and brag about the man he is growing to be, I will just say: we are proud. Being a teenager is not easy. Parenting a teenager is not easy. But together, we are doing pretty well as a team.

Back to School 2013

A new chapter feels good but a little scary at how time goes so quickly through life chapters. Tonight we slowed down for Hunter’s birthday and spent time with my brother, sister-in-law and our friend, Ben.
Sweet Sixteen for this boyAnd while I should type more and share all the fun details, I am a short on time blogger tonight. So instead I posted a few pictures for my grandma and all of you to see with the promise of more blog posts soon, including the absolutely awesome red combine cake Ben made for Hunter! But I need to be on a plane in less than twelve hours and haven’t packed yet…or slept. Details.

Happy Sweet 16 Hunter!

What do you remember about your Sweet 16th birthday?

Happy Birthday Hunter! Best part of my 16th birthday was getting my license and applying for my first job off the farm, which I then started within the week! But I hear getting your license isn’t as big of deal anymore for 16 year olds???

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
