Western North Dakota is where my sister and brother-in-law live. They moved here for opportunity, to make a greater life for themselves. They are succeeding along with thousands of others. The opportunities are as big as the sky. And the sunset the other night as I walked out of the building I was working in to set up a local showcase for my work reminded me to soak in the opportunity that surrounds us. Beauty can be found wherever we are.
The other beautiful thing about the weekend? Despite my need to work at a local showcase my sister and brother-in-law are able to take care of the girls while I work and then we can play in our downtime. Last night two of my colleagues joined us for Thai take out, great conversation and the girls cozied up for a movie. A beautiful weekend in the oil patch of North Dakota.

Your kiddos are so adorable! That sky is magnificent. I got to take painting classes for my first time and so that was great. Seeing everyone creating something together was beautiful. Birthday bbq with my 87 year old father in law in my yard, so relaxing and pretty to sit in a garden. Wish I did more of that!
I did take a few minutes to sit on the feedbunk (while I waited to open the gate for the feed wagon) and enjoy the sight of our healthy calves as they eagerly waited for dinner to be served!! A few did come close enough to smell my hand. Always a beautiful sight to see the calves run and play as they follow the feed wagon to the bunk…
