In America the beautiful tonight

In America tonight on the rural North Dakota prairie, our son played baseball on our local team. There aren’t enough boys willing to play for two older teams this year. So our son plays up on the older Legion team instead of the Babe Ruth team. Everyone has an opportunity to play and no one gets cut.
Tonight in America there was a big hit with our son on second base as the American flag was flying proud in center field.

Even when you have your sights set on the goal you don’t always make it. You fall short at times. But sometimes you make it home in America the beautiful.

Tomorrow is Independence Day in America the beautiful. Today also marks six months since I started my new career. It has been six months of change. Six months of being home more than I could have ever been in my previous role. Six months of adjusting, reallocating time and prioritizing for our family and more. But today in my new role I was able to sit in during some time with a 13 member Turkish trade delegation visiting North Dakota. They are here to learn about our land, our agriculture, our processes, systems, research and education. They are here to model after us and grow their economy for a growing population. It made my heart swell with pride for America the beautiful today. We are model for freedom, for commerce and for a next generation…

Miss A celebrated her 3rd birthday on Sunday July 1
in America beautiful.
What are you thankful for in America in the beautiful tonight?
I have more photos to share tomorrow on the 4th of July. Enjoy your holiday if you are American. And American or not, thank you for reading this rural American blog. God Bless you, your families and our freedoms.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
