Thankful for Robbie

Today is my first born sibling’s birthday. My years of only childhood ended and I was overjoyed with my miracle brother. As you can see in the above picture he was not overjoyed always with his big sister. He is a musician, a teacher, a farmer, a basketball coach and has chosen to have his career in rural North Dakota. He is a survivor. He has an endless work ethic. He has a strong moral compass, lives by his values, speaks and shares his opinions and loves his family and friends.

He is the next generation of rural America. Robbie brings me hope and energy. He encourages me.

Robbie is a role model. I am so proud to call him my brother.

(Robbie is also a blog stalker. I know he will read this…so Happy Birthday Robbie! We love you.)

Linking up with Rural Journal, Two Bears Farm and The Wife of a Dairyman today.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
