New baby visit

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Our girls are in a baby stage. They care for their doll “babies” all the time. The babies go with us on outings and are cared for like their own. But the best babies are…real ones. And this afternoon our girls got a visit from a new “real” baby. Our local friends had their first born three weeks ago and stopped by this afternoon for a visit.

The girls swooned and poked at him. Baby C slept. They gave him gifts. Baby C slept.

I think their expectation was Baby C was going to be a little more playful. Instead Miss A played dress up and Miss E never left his side.

When you live in the most elderly county per capita in the country, a new baby is especially celebrated. Our rural prairie is renewed and vibrant when new life joins us. Welcome to the prairie Baby C.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
