WW Linky & Giveaway: Grandpa Walks Like Santa

Filed Under: Misc. Tagged With: wordless Wednesday 9 Comments

In years past Santa has actually climbed out of our chimney into our living room. This year Miss E didn’t think Santa would be traveling as easily on his sleigh with no snow. Santa just rang in the doorbell and stopped by for a visit after our church service on Christmas Eve. He was about to embark on a very busy night. The girls were a little nervous by Santa’s presence in the living room but warmed up as he pulled out a few gifts from his bag.

Santa delivered the kids a couple toys, a movie series for the teenager along with a bag of kitten food and said they will be getting kittens in the spring. The next morning as Grandpa Eldon walked by Miss E and Nana at our house, Miss E said “Grandpa walks like Santa!” Nana said, “Oh you think so?” Miss E again confirmed, “Yes! Grandpa walks like Santa.”
They don’t look like a like thankfully. They just walk a like. Whew.

In case you doubt 14 year olds can experience the same excitement and joy on Christmas as young children, we witnessed they can. My parents surprised Hunter with an iPad.

Mama Jane doesn’t walk like Santa but she’s just as kind and giving as Santa! And she’s always full of surprises.
What Christmas memories or holiday fun are you sharing today? It’s Wordy or Wordless Wednesday. Link below and be sure to visit a 3-5 blogs linked up today. I’ll draw a giveaway winner next week and send the randomly drawn winner a fun prize in my closet of gifts I didn’t quite get wrapped at Christmas! I’m actually not working and will be by to visit your blog today through the next few days and can’t wait to see what you share.
Last week’s linky winner is Mama To 4 Blessings and I’m sending her 2 of my favorite children’s books and very native to the prairie, P is for Peace Garden written by my friend Roxane and Levi’s Lost Calf written by my friend Amanda.

Katie, my mama’s name is Jane, too. 🙂 I am thrilled you’ve thought of my book for a giveaway! I think it’s the first time my book has been involved in a blog giveaway, so I feel especially honored! I don’t want to enter; that wouldn’t be fair. But I hope whomever gets it enjoys it. Also, your kids are so adorable and handsome. Thanks for sharing some of your sweet Christmas memories with us. 🙂

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
