2008 Blog Revisit: Baby Elissa

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: blogger, bogging, why I blog 2 Comments

This coming up Sunday marks my golden blogging birthday. 4 years of blogging on December 4th. For the  next few days I am going to repost one of my favorite past blog posts to remember why I blog. While you are enjoying these blog posts…I am vacationing with my family…without my computer but I do have my phone with me, checking in on things a little…maybe. My mom is keeping things going at our house and I know we’ll be coming home to baked goods and folded laundry. A true vacation reward and gift.

The first reason I ever started blogging was because of family. Miss E came into our lives on my second ever blog post. Here was the first blog she ever wrote in January 2008.

Elissa’s post

I am well fed and get a lot of cuddling time with my family. And in case you haven’t noticed…I am very cute with dimples in my cheeks!
Chillin’ on Hunter’s bed

My brother and I hang out in his room in the evenings before bedtime. We talk and laugh together.

My Mama Jane made me a beautiful new car seat cover with pretty cherry print fabric, cherry trim and cherry buttons! It brings a smile to my face every time my mommy or daddy puts it over my seat. It keeps me very warm in this crazy cold weather. I am excited to have my Mama Jane and Grandpa Fred visit me this coming weekend.

Hunter is my best friend.

Hunter taught me the YMCA dance one evening when I was fussy. It put me to sleep.

One of my many afternoon cat naps…I love tummy time on the Boppy.
I might not sleep much during the day but I sleep some at night now. My dad and I hang out late at night and then crash around midnight. My mommy gets up with me around 4 or 5AM and then I go back to sleep. My dad sets the coffee machine each morning for 6AM. It grinds coffee and Hunter says it sounds like a machine gun going off in the house. I do not hear it and sleep right through it.
I am growing quickly and am six weeks old, weighing in at 12.5 lbs. Today my mommy and I went on road trip to Bismarck together. We saw our friend Lora visiting from Arizona and did some shopping together.

Memories of blogging. I love each and every one of them.

So sweet. And the fact that she was born on the day of your second blog post. Wow. Imagine her looking back on the posts her momma wrote one day…

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
