WW w/ linky: In the land of honey & bowling balls

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: family fun, North Dakota, prairie life, wordless Wednesday 15 Comments

With an unusually warm fall upon us…as in temperatures in the low to mid 80’s F highs, I have noticed the honey bees have been especially busy around our house.

They seem to be soaking up the last of the North Dakota sunshine and warmth before gearing up for their trek south that the bee farmers take them on to California and Texas. Minus an ugly bout of stomach flu that swept through our house last weekend, we’ve been outside most of our free time as well the past few weeks, relishing in the glorious weather, watching a lot of the teenager’s football and now taking in a harvest at GriggsDakota.

But when our activity time moves more inside as winter draw upon us, we now know where to visit to burn off some energy. Our own busy bees found an inside activity they loved and hope to do more of come the long prairie winter.

The girls had their first time bowling at a friend’s birthday party. Without fail, both girls bowled strikes the first time they launched the ball.

There was some intense instruction from Daddy which you can see Miss E took seriously and Miss A…not as much.

But practice makes perfect and our busy bees will be bowling again soon at the one and only bowling alley in our corner of the prairie.

Those are beautiful flowers. The bees are cool too, just not my favorite creatures.
The bowling looks like fun. I mentioned over at Mom to 2 Posh lil Divas that I need to start thinking of taking my girls bowling.

Bowling is a great idea. I bet Pierce is old enough that he could enjoy it now.

    Such beautiful photos.

I love when it’s warmer and not too hot or cold and being able to go out and enjoy nature.

Very fun times with the bowling!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
