Before naps this afternoon, the girls and I went to the “pumpkin patch” as Miss E said. It really was just our (dead) garden which froze early a couple weeks ago. We had two pumpkin plants that we grew from seeds last spring. The sheer excitement and joy is best shown on the pictures. I had no idea last spring that two pumpkin seeds would lead to such rewards for the girls in the fall…or for me to witness.
Miss E congratulated her sister, Miss A. Then they each took a pumpkin inside with them and slept with it during their naps. I asked Miss E, “What did you learn from growing pumpkins?”
With out missing a beat, she said, “Well I learned I am really going a being a pumpkin farmer!”

So cute!
My father-in-law used to raise pumpkins. My girls would walk with him as he tended the growing crop…and then the day came when they could choose their own pumpkins for my porch.
Great memories you have woven.
Many Blessings ~ Sandi

I grew 6 but they all got a fungus and died. In other words they rotten on one side. At a FB meeting the farmer guy told me we had a fungus this year and wanted to know if my pumpkins were ok? I said NO.Glad your girls had a good time in their garden.
