Wordless Wednesday: Advantages of being a SAHM

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: being a mom, motherhood, working mom 12 Comments

My mind has been pondering my work mom life versus the two weeks of vacation I’m doing right now to be a stay-at-home mom (SAHM). A longer blog post of rambling will come in the next couple weeks on my advantages and disadvantages I have pondered. For today, I’m just relishing in our family time. Share your Wordless or Wordful Wednesday post below by linking up any photo or photos in a blog post you’d like to share. Visit others’ blogs, comment, link up and enjoy the day.
Yesterday our family time over the noon hour included a picnic in our small town park. “Daddy” and big brother joined the girls and I who walked over with the stroller packed with sandwiches and goodies.

Miss E and Miss A were fresh from hair cuts. E loves getting her hair done. She wants “long, long hair” but Miss Erin, her stylist, trimmed a couple inches off and I was happy. It’s much easier to manage.
Miss A has no patience for hair cuts. A quick trim and she jumped off the chair.
Miss A would much rather keep herself busy with playing at the park than sitting for a hair cut. The girls favorite activity at the park is going up and down the old school slide that remains in the park since their dad once played on it, back in the “olden days” as our son says.
Speaking of our son, he’s growing, eating, running, growing, eating, working, growing, eating and starting football. My cooking has paid off because following his sports physical this week he smiled at me and said, “Mom, I’ve gained 41 lbs. since last year!” Plus he’s added five inches of height. And we wonder where our food goes? Now it has been confirmed.

What are you doing this week to enjoy a little family time?

I’m linking up today with three favorite Wordless Wednesday bloggers…

5 inches! HOLY CATS! My boys are already eating out of house& home and they are 4&2. I might have to take out a second mortgage just to feed them when they are teens.
Beautiful pictures as always! Glad you got to be a SAHM these past two weeks. Remember the grass is always greener on the other side. You are a great mom!!

SAHM here and I can’t see myself working full time. I did part time for a while and that just made things hectic to get house chores and town errands done!

When you tweeted how much your son has grown in the last year I was impressed! Those are some great performance genetics you have. I think it is awesome that you get to be home with your family.

It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the topic. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to be at home with my kids since little man was born.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
