Wordless Wednesday: Intro to Buckin’ Broncos

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota, Small Town Living Tagged With: county fair, family fun, prairie life 13 Comments

Below is my weekly linky and blog hop for Wordless Wednesday. Today you see a glimpse into how exciting it was to watch the buckin’ broncos for us on Sunday night in our fair grounds grand stand.
116F heat index (temperature close 100F with high humidity and dew point) and a whole lot of brave cowboys (and cowgirls roping calves and barrel racing horses). You’ll be able to see the complete glee and delight our girls found in this unique prairie experience. Then link up and share a photo for Wordless Wednesday.

Miss E waved good-bye at the grand stand and the rodeo. The girls actually had no patience for the buckin’ broncos. No bribing, food or pop (unless you call it soda) could sway them. They wanted to catch the last few rides of the county fair over staying to watch the rodeo.
Have you ever attended a rodeo? What’s your favorite part of it?

Hmmm…my favorite part of a rodeo is probably the bull riding and the Wranglers;) Love the Paint bronco!

Great captures, getting good photos of rodeo horses is a tough one! Lovely family shots too.

Wow, that is really hot. We’re in the upper 90s all week. I thought that was bad!

I LOVE rodeos. I used to want to be a barrel racer, but my dad wouldn’t buy me a horse! Those sweat drenched faces are so adorable!

    Hi! New follower.

Despite growing up in, and now again living near a rodeo town, I’ve never attended.

I should do it at least once.

Great pictures Katie! I have a special place n my heart for Rodeo. My little brother is a bull rider and my dad has been an amatuer team roper forever! It’s a great sport.

Love the bronc photos. It’s been a few years since I’ve actually been to a county fair (how embarrassing is that?!?) will all my moving and round and college hopping. I’ll have to fix that soon. Hope it all went well ya’lls way this year!

Finally made it over to see your buckin bronco pics. So glad I did- they are really great. Looks like a fun time in spite of the crazy heat. Happy belated WW. 🙂

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
