I don’t have time for fashion.
But I love to have clean, professional, fashion forward look for my work wardrobe.
I don’t have time to spend time shopping.
But I love shopping.
I need fast shopping which usually leads to online and I need tall sizes or long lengths for my 6’0″ figure.
For quick trips this time of year I toss a few dresses into my suitcase, maybe a black pair of capris and a top, a light weight neutral sweater, a pair of neutral open toe sandals and a pair of closed toe shoes. Essential make up is required and then I call it good.
Today this is what I am wearing in sunny Sacramento. My colleague took my picture at the request of a few Facebook friends that I show them what dress I am wearing today after my comments about my working wardrobe.
It’s a Boden dress from last Spring that my mom actually picked out and ordered for me. Boden has long lengths and fit me well. They are true to size. They have coupons available and great sales. Plus they deliver right to my door. Living 100 miles from any shopping mall, it’s rare that I take time to go shopping. I have a light weight cream cardigan to wear over the dress today for meetings and have closed toe, blue, flat shoes on.
What I love about it is that I can fly home in the same dress and be totally comfortable for my 18 hour day. I also wore this dress at the county fair last Saturday. Farm girl fashion to downtown Sacramento working fashion. Easy wearing. Washable. Totally my style.
Now to my fashionista and non-fashionista friends, where do you shop to find good deals for your wardrobe?
What are some favorites in your wardrobe?

I am not much for shopping. But, my sister is.
Sister is an expert at finding all the great deals and buying awesome clothes for little money. She has a lot of clothes and a high turn over rate. If she has not worn something in the last year she gets rid of it.
Lucky for me we are about the same size and she likes to send me her stuff!
I have little invested in my clothing and they are more than trendy enough for me.

I am rather fond of pairing my Miss Me jeans and cowboy boots with a black blazer for conferences or an evening out. In the circles that I run in, this is acceptable and is very comfortable for me. Simple yet, when thrown together with a crisp blouse and some jewelry, can look pretty great!

Great Dress and great tips for packing light on work trips. You look so “California” in this picture. I think we might be rubbing off on you. Have a safe trip home!

As a pastor’s wife, I find anything from Christopher and Banks to be a wonderful addition to my wardrobe. My favorite outfit is a long, denim jumper dress with these adorable cats embroidered on it. I pair it with a long sleeve neutral colored turtle neck and a pair of sensible shoes. It is perfect any time of year.

I’ll have to check out where you got the dress! I am an online shopper, too! It is so much easier than taking an 18 month old into the dressing room with you! Lol And I have the opposite problem. I usually have a hard time finding clothes short enough for my 5 foot frame! Have a great weekend!

I do a lot of online shopping too! My worst thing to shop for is running shoes, because I have wide feet and I’ve started ordering from Newbalance.com and it’s been great! I’ve never been disappointed! I shop for clothes online too but I’ve yet to find a great website.

Clothes Mentor in Fargo and beyond. Similar to Plato’s Closet (second-hand clothes) only more mom-oriented. 🙂

I wear a lot of pants with tops/sweaters and usually flats. I teach, so I am always running around!

I love to shop, but now that I am a full-time SAHM, the clothes are slightly different and the budget more limited:) I usually wear sundresses all summer long. They are cool and comfortable and don’t make me feel like a frumpy SAHM. And no MOM jeans! Call me crazy, but I can’t imagine my husband thinking “Wow! She looks hot in those mom jeans”:) Of course to low riders either!! I love the GAP and Banana Republic and Wal Mart. I never ever ever pay full price either. There is nothing I NEED so if not on sale then I move on. Love your dress by the way!

Beautiful dress!!
I don’t like fashion but I do love style. I don’t like to see clothes on people – I like to see people wearing clothes (does that even make sense?). I like to see clothes that fit a person’s personality and compliment it (that is style).
I am a 1st grade teacher so my work clothes need to be comfortable, washable, and stylish. I am really picky, so I can’t shop online and my body is hard to fit so that is another reason I don’t shop online. But, I do love to thrift – I can get good quality clothes that don’t cost very much (good thing for my limited budget). I love dresses for work and my two favorites are from Target! I shop discount stores like Ross and Marshalls. I also like Gap Outlet and Banana Republic Factory Store, but I don’t get a chance to go to those often.
This reminds me – I need to get out and get shopping for clothes and not just school supplies.

Well, my dear friend, The Limited is my go to place for perfect fitting pants that I can machine wash and have them longer than 33″. I love Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, and J. Crew for casual to business clothes also. I live about 20 minutes from the BEST outlet mall. If I didn’t live that close I would be wearing clothes that didn’t fit, were out of style and pathetic.

Oh, my goodness! I had to laugh at the above comment about the denim jumper with embroidered cats. My mom (also a pastor’s wife) got a good laugh, too!
Katie @Pinke Post says
Yes just we are ALL clear my friend Katie, a pastor’s wife, wrote that comment as a JOKE! And it is hilarious!
Rob and Carrie says
Yes, I wasn’t so sure at first until I saw your Facebook comment. Otherwise I wouldn’t have dared to comment!
