Wordless Wednesday: Sunsets & S’mores Matter

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: camping, North Dakota, prairie life 18 Comments

Below is a link up for you to share your Wordless (or Wordy) Wednesday today. I visit every one that links up and love all that you share. Amidst a hectic work load for my husband, our son’s baseball season while he still plays basketball and a fully scheduled and packed month of business travel for me, we carved out time for sunsets and s’more this past weekend.
The sunset overlooked Lake Oahe, which is the Missouri River that spans a few miles wide where we visit. Lake Oahe covers a long stretch of the river from Bismarck, North Dakota to Pierre, South Dakota. It is also is going to be in the news headlines this week from flooding . We live east of it, high above the flood plain but please keep those people struggling to save their homes and businesses in your prayers.

My husband aka the blog hijacker will also do a guest post later this week to share…the fishing is good on Lake Oahe too. Miss A proved it to us. Yes, Miss A…as in not yet 2 years old but one month from today she will and she already has fishing skills.

Aside from fishing, our prized moments while along Lake Oahe are family fun and almost always full of sunsets and s’mores.

It’s Wordless Wednesday…so I’ll quit typing and just let you come up with your own explanation of Miss E on the above photo.

What are some of your favorite summertime family moments?
Link up and share your Wordless Wednesday post today.
You can visit others that have linked below and enjoy the many fun photos and posts.  New followers let me know and I’ll come back over for a visit to you. Happy Wordless Wednesday!

I tried to use your button, but Blogger or whatever didn’t like it, so I used the Link tool instead. I am sometimes technically challenged!

Great pics. Looks like everyone had a great time!

Love the sunset picts! Looks like you had a fun weekend w/ family. We have been listening to all the reports from Pierre. My sister-in-law lives in Minot, ND and they are under a lot of water also. I think cleaning up after flood damage would be awful.

What an incredible sunset! Sometimes it’s hard to think that so much heartache could be hidden behind something so beautiful. Our prayers to the families who are struggling.

I love smores. Love love love. My family doesn’t share the sam affinity for the treat… my daughter won’t eat chocolate, my son found them too messy (that might change this year) and my husband doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth. More for me!

I love love love the sky. I love sunrises and sunsets and different clouds and colors and lights.

Love your picture of the sunset. I always manage to catch a picture of the sunrise on Lake Oahe. We fish it from Pierre to Gettysburg every summer. We have been keeping the communities of Pierre and Ft. Pierre in our prayers as we have lots of friends in that area.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
