Crazy Days of Summer: John Deere Yellow

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota, Motivated Moms Tagged With: prairie life, working mom 10 Comments

You often hear John Deere green as a color description in our corner of the prairie. But today I’m seeing John Deere yellow. I’m linking up today for the Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge and this week’s theme is yellow.
Where did I see John Deere yellow?

I found it at the Aneta, North Dakota antique tractor pull.

The tractor pull was a new experience for us and one that we loved seeing.
You can link up below to share you favorite yellow photo of summer. Visit many of the links shared that have amazing yellow photos.
In other news, I haven’t slept after a short red-eye flight. Red-eye flights are named that for a reason. My eyes aren’t blue…or yellow. They are red. It’s been a long day and night but home makes red-eyes worth it. The best part of the red-eye flight? My husband suggested on the phone to me that instead of working on my computer at the airport ahead of my 12:53AM flight departure that I should go to a movie. What a novel idea. A movie in a theatre? I had not been to one since last August and that was with my husband. I went with two female colleague friends to Bridesmaids. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time at a movie. It also was a great few hours to unwind before the red-eye. Now, it’s homeward bound across the prairie, where I will later this summer see fields of yellow canola and yellow sunflowers.

Thanks for joining Alicia and I for the Crazy Days of Summer Photo Challenge. I hope you’ll be able squeeze some time in for next week’s theme (LIGHT) between business and family time. I’m looking forward to seeing sunflower and canola pics and some point. 😉 Have a great weekend!

I see those quite frequently here in Iowa, but have to admit I’d never noticed the yellow. lol. So creative! And that movie? It was hilarious. I also went with some girlfriends and I’m not sure I’ve ever laughed that hard. Ever. Thanks so much for linkin up to our Crazy Days of Summer with that John Deere yellow! Very fun shots.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
