In Another 30 Years…

Filed Under: Family Values, Motivated Moms Tagged With: kids, motherhood, raising a family 3 Comments

In another 30 years, our hope and prayer is for our children to become parents and have their own children.
But for now…
the way this little “mother” is just melts my heart.
Baby “Jared” (fondly named after Jared from daycare) was Miss E’s first “baby”. She also has Ava, Avery and Kaitlyn…also all namesakes of friends. Baby Jared was the only baby I have ever bought her. “He” was on sale rack leaving a department store when I was nine months pregnant with her almost exactly three years ago. And three years later, Baby Jared has been Miss E’s hard travelin’ companion. She buckles him in the car between her car seat and her sister’s. She always feeds him, changes his “ick” diaper and when he is being naughty Baby Jared even has to have a timeout. Each and every night Jared is tucked into bed with a “see you in the morning” greeting.
Yes for now this is just the type of sweet mommy I want her to be…a pretend mommy. But it is great practice and she has me dreaming of what type of a mommy she will be in another thirty years. No doubt Miss E will keep us all on our toes until then and keep good track of Jared, Ava, Avery, Kaitlyn and any other babies she acquires along the way.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
