Tears & a prairie walk after the rain

Filed Under: Life in North Dakota Tagged With: prairie life Leave a Comment

After a quick trip to California on business I am home today with all three kiddos. Our plan was to spend the morning outside playing and pack in the afternoon while the girls napped to get ready for a weekend of camping and fishing.
Instead we had a brief morning shower which kept us inside initially. Miss E found her umbrella and tried to escape to use it in the rain.
In usual fashion she was quite disappointed the rain was over and she sobbed.
In her usual fashion, Anika found her sobbing sister to be amusing.
Hunter came to the rescue, making Elizabeth very happy that she could still use her umbrella as he took the girls for a walk on the prairie.
A morning walk on the prairie after a quiet rain, there isn’t a better way to spend the day.
Now I need to go catch up to them.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
