Anika Iris, 10 months

Filed Under: Motivated Moms Tagged With: happy baby, kids, motherhood Leave a Comment

Each month I post on the first of month to celebrate our youngest baby girl, Anika Iris Kathryn’s monthly milestones.
Today is May Day and Anika is 10 months old.
Here is a quick look back at the past 10 months and our baby girl with her pink bunny “Hop-Hop” that her Daddy gave her when she was born.

This morning Anika moved pretty fast for her ten month photo shoot with her Hop-Hop bunny. No more sitting or laying nicely next to it like she has done each month previously of her life.
But I think the pictures give you a sense of her sweet personality developing.
This one of my favorite pictures of Anika. It is what she looks like a majority of the time. Content, observing the world around her, not too excited but happy. She looks like such a big girl in these pictures. AHHH.
Hop-Hop is not so big anymore.
Here is another favorite look of ours that Anika often has.
It is her toothless ten month smile. Yes she is still toothless! She claps now when she is especially happy and has these gleeful sounds she makes.
This is what Anika thinks of hair bows.
I just cannot bring myself to CUT her sweet baby hair so it has to be pulled back in the front every day into a little waterfall pony tail on top of her head.

Anika is wearing 12 month or 12-18month size clothing and size 3 diapers.
Anika eats anything we give her. Her most new favorite food is yogurt. She has gotten in a great routine with her evening bottle and then sleeps like a dream baby through the night. This morning her boisterous sister woke her at 8AM. I have a feeling we might be dealing with this for many years to come.

Anika loves playing with her sister’s toys now more than ever which is causes E some distress. Learning to share is a tumultuous process for our very independent two year old. Thankfully Anika is easy going and moves onto a different toy before her sister can even get done with her fit of not wanting to share.

Anika also has discovered she loves books. She crawls over to the book shelf upstairs or basket of books in the living room and grabs different books. She sits and looks through them. We read to her often but now it is fun to see how she is developing her own preferences and activities.

Happy 10 months Anika Iris! We love you so much. You are indeed the best baby in the world. In the next month you are going to change even more and you also are going to be a beautiful princess-like flower girl in Auntie K’s and soon to be Uncle Mike’s wedding. Cousin Nevaeh Beth and your big sister Elizabeth Carolyn Jane are going to pull you down the aisle in a decorated wagon. How much is FUN that going to be? We have no doubt you will have a smile on your face.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
