Our kiddos are growing and changing so quickly that I want to make sure we get their milestones and activities included on this blog. It is my best attempt at a baby book!
Here is an overdue update with some photos I took last evening.
Anika Iris, soon to be 10 months, has yet to have her 9 month statistics published.
Drum roll.
Anika is our peanut we like to joke. But actually she is indeed in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. She weighed in this month at 19lbs. 12 oz. and 28 1/2″ in length.
Anika continues to be our best sleeper. She likes to be in bed long before the sun goes down on the prairie and wake up after the sun rises. Some days I wish I could have the same sleep schedule as Anika. Sleep might be one of her secrets to her easy-going demeanor.
Miss Anika babbles “Dadadadada” now. She makes the “Haha” sound which could be for both “Hi” and “Hunter”. Just recently she started with the “Mamamamama” babbling.
As Anika’s personality continues to develop we just cannot get enough of her. She is so sweet, sincere and thoughtful. My heart just overflows with love when I pick her up from her crib in the morning. She is never crying, always bright-eyed and happy. She is our dream baby.
Anika is by far the latest teething baby I have ever known.
Not a single tooth has cut yet in her mouth. Our pediatrician smiled at my concern about this and said “Oh she is not even close to my practice record of having a 20 month old cut their first tooth.”
We are not suppose to worry. Her teeth will arrive when they want to. Until then she eats A LOT of baby food, cereal and yogurt along with puffs that turn to mush in her mouth.
Anika pulls herself up to stand and will crawl anywhere. She also has amazing patience as you can see from the below pictures.
Miss E prides herself in getting into whatever it is Anika is enjoying at the moment. Last night it was taking Anika’s chair away from her. Miss E proceeded to carry it up the stairs.
E was coaching Anika to CLIMB the stairs to go get the chair.
Anika moved on and crawled over to play with books and toys, not phased by her sister’s trickery.
Our middle child has a personality and energy like I have never seen in a child.
Elizabeth approaches each day with intense vigor. I can only imagine what productivity the world would have if we all had the energy Miss E has every day.
Her imagination is blossoming. Each night we have to check on the cats that “live” under her bed. There also is a duck, a cow, a baby calf and “avother bird” living under her bed. These pretend animals are excuses to extend her bedtime. She needs to check on them and cannot rest without several visits to the animals.
E also has strong opinions about everything from what she wears, how she does her hair, whether she has a bath or a shower, what she eats, what she drinks, what shoes she wears…the list goes on and on and you understand my point.
Hiding behind the chair is Elizabeth’s secret spot where she last night was digging in my purse that she snatched out of my office. It was there she told me she was putting on make up, getting ready for a meeting.
(I am most happy to notice this picture does not have major dust bunnies showing up in the corner behind the chair!)
Adventure is a part of E’s daily life. After snatching my purse, applying her pretend make up, she grabbed Anika’s plastic keys and was off to her meeting.
Life is limitless in Miss E’s world.
And we love it.

This was my attempt at trying to get all kids to look at the camera while Hunter held up what he is working on this week. Elissa is snapping her finger above her head because that is often what I do when I try to get them all to smile at the camera. Hunter is talking to the girls to get them to look at me. And none of it worked.
But what we were all smiling about and trying to tell you is that…
Hunter is busy memorizing 53 lines this week as the Missoula Children’s Theater is visiting his school for their week long annual visit. Yesterday he landed the role of Arthur in the King Arthur production.
This weekend he will be in King Arthur as well as have his piano recital. A couple weekends off from basketball to be an actor and a musician brings balance to our boy’s life.
But soon we will back into the traveling basketball routine with a couple tournaments in May. Then it will be onto baseball season which Hunter is getting ready for already by hitting balls and playing catch with Nathan after the girls are in bed in the evenings
That’s a Pinke Post wrap on our growing kiddo updates. Life is full, busy, exciting and never dull. We would not change it for the world.

So sweet! It seems like Anika and Anna Kate would be BFF’s…two peas in a pod…both great sleepers, easy going, and joyful! And Rody and Miss E could be busy bees together…they would definitely solve world peace.. ha! love it and love you!
