Lobster tail sushi roll…not on the prairie

I have had meetings for the past few days on the west coast. Nathan traveled with me and has enjoyed a vacation including deep sea fishing with a longtime friend of his along with some much needed down time.
It has been a flurry of meetings and social entertaining for me that Nathan has partaken in which includes food that we don’t get too eat on the prairie.
Last night I took a picture of my dinner because it just was superb.

Not a food I would ever eat on the prairie but I enjoyed every bite last night.
One rule of traveling I have learned is if you can see the ocean, order seafood. Last night we were overlooking the ocean. We live in the center of North America. Enjoying non-prairie food, like a lobster tail sushi roll is a treat and makes travel fun.
We miss our kiddos though and are excited to get home soon. Hunter sent us a text message at 3:50AM Pacific time this morning to tell us he was ready to go for his basketball tournament that Grandpa Fred was taking him to in South Dakota with some of his local teammates. And every time we call home Elizabeth asks us if Daddy is bringing her presents. Yes indeed we will bring back presents to the prairie. They won’t include sushi rolls but at least we will have had a chance to experience some fun outings and foods together and will be ready to return to prairie life.

How Fun!! Looks like a very yummy (non-prairie) meal. What a great business and vacation trip.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
