The Busyness of Busy Bits

Our lil’ Miss E has earned the name “Busy Bits” for quite some time now. She is a force to be reckoned with when she does not get her exact demand or you do not respond immediately to her command. But most of the time though she is just busy. Sweet and busy.
Sometimes she is busy being a mother…
to her baby dolls. This baby is called “Jared” and yes he is always dressed in pink. Busy Bits would have it no other way. Pink is her color of choice…for everything, all the time. She keeps a bottle for Jared in her fridge of her play kitchen, prepares it each night after supper (last night we laughed as she shook a pretend bottle of mustard into the bottle) and feeds Baby Jared before she goes to bed. (Note: The “real” Jared is a daycare buddy who is a year younger than E.)
She also helps Jared fall asleep at night, with a blanket over his head. Jared was too tired to make it all the way up the stairs to the baby bed and instead settled in on the stairs…with his Busy Bits mother by his side, singing to him.
Other times Busy Bits keeps herself busy by helping us clean.
I give her cleaning wipes and she washes the floors or table. But don’t turn your back on her while she is cleaning…or Busy Bits will clean…
the ashes out of the fireplace!
Ah yes she is busy. We wouldn’t have it any other way. We love our Busy Bits. She keeps us on our toes, laughing and enjoying each day to the fullest.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
