Anika Iris, 6 months
January 1, 2010
Happy New Year! It is hard to believe Anika Iris is 6 months already. We are celebrating the New Year holiday at the farm with my family but I wanted to continue our 1st of the month tradition of Anika and her “hop hop” bunny pictures.
Anika weighs about 17.5 lbs. now and has changed more in the last month than the past five combined it seems. Anika’s personality has developed. She is calm, content and smiley as she has always been but now has found her voice and “sings” and squeals daily to us. Anika is very close to sitting up solo but still is a little tippy and leans forward to support herself. She is interested in toys and grabs things and keeps herself occupied by playing more. She is much stronger and scoots around on the floor. She will “swim” on the floor and put herself very quickly up on her knees which we know means is crawling will come soon. Anika prefers to be on her tummy but now rolls back and forth from tummy to back and back to tummy so much that she roll her way across a room!
We had a fabulous New Years Eve celebration last night that I will post later and include a few New Year’s resolutions too.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
