Plumb full

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: family, holidays 1 Comment

Thanksgiving allowed me moments today to pause and be reminded of how fortunate our family is. Before layering my plate with food and eating so much I felt ill, I had a grateful and thankful heart that filled me with warm sense of love and peacefulness. We were surrounded by family (and missed a few of you too!) today. It was a day of feasting and family fun. Nathan and I are fortunate in that for the past four years our families have come together and celebrated numerous holidays together. Today Nathan’s parents drove early this morning to my family’s farm and joined in on the feasting and celebrating. Our kids will have many memories of holidays with both sets of their grandparents which I know as adults they will understand more how unique and special that is.
Playing football, watching football, shooting off fireworks, having a bonfire, playing a family game of Monopoly on two boards, arm wrestling (Hunter will be practicing so he can fare better at Christmas!), telling stories, eating pie and more pie and laughing together. It made me plumb full from top to bottom. Plumb full of thankfulness.
Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks be to God.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
