Anika is eight weeks old. She has been smiling for a few weeks but I never manage to catch it on camera. Our friend Ethan (who was born on my birthday January 6th!) had been borrowing our baby activity mat. He is getting busier and mobile now and his mama returned it to us for Anika to use. It has become an exciting hang out for Anika Iris! Only her sister Elizabeth Carolyn Jane thinks it is “mine” as she says and insists on sharing the space on the mat with Anika. I nervously hovered and watched E the other morning as she laid by Anika who did not mind the company. She was all smiles! The girl’s faces on these pictures just melt me. I know sisters will not always be best friends and will have their share of battles but I do pray they have a unique bond and a lifetime of friendship. It looks as though it has already begun.
Long-legged sisters!
Elizabeth is filled with character, personality and energy but she works so diligently to be gentle and loving to Anika. For her age we find her to be…tremendous! And the above picture is tremendously loving and sweet. And Anika is tremendously sweet, cuddly and loving herself. Big Brother Hunter misses his sisters during the school days now and comes home anxious to play with them.
Each morning when Hunter is putting on his backpack to go to school, Elizabeth says “me too hool”. She would walk to school with Hunter and never look back. That day will come soon enough. For now we are cherishing our days at home.
