Road trip

Karla and I were able to make a quick road trip Sunday to see Sara and meet Baby Lucas at eleven days old. We also had fun play time with big brother Sam but by the time the camera was out, Sam was napping. Karla and Sara met their freshman year of college as suite mates. I was still in high school and got to know Karla through Sara. The three of us have all been close friends for many years, always sharing stories and laughs.

What a glowing, pretty mama!
(Really, Sara, you are not suppose to look this good less than two weeks after having a baby.)

Lucas Owen

As Sara said, “Who is bigger? Lucas or the belly?” Definitely my belly!

Lucas was saying hello to his soon to arrive friend.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
