Elizabeth proudly shows you “off”. Indeed the pink cast has been removed, her left leg healed.
No cast has led to two evening baths that do not include a plastic garbage bag over her leg while her daddy holds the leg up and she semi-soaks for 90 seconds in the sink and then has a sponge bath for another five minutes. Now she gets a toy playing, soaking and splashing real bath again. She is walking still on her toes a bit and today seems a little stiff legged which is expected. But the doctor is pleased with the new bone growth and that the break was not around the growth plate. All is well.
Elizabeth managed to talk her daddy into calling me while I was in Fargo on Monday for meetings, telling me that she was deserving of new shoes for being such a trooper. That Daddy always knows what is best.
No cast= new shoes
Hunter saw new shoes for his sister and realized he needed new work boots for himself. He once again is measuring nearly his age, a size 12. Cast removal led to shoe buying for both growing kids!
A long healthy healed leg! A relief and answered prayer. Thank you for all of your well wishes, cards, gifts and prayers for Miss E. She is back at her busy toddler life in full force.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
