Joyful

Peek-a-boo
(She really thinks you cannot see her!)
Telling all of us like it is. She might have inherited the gift of “I think I’m the boss”. This could have been passed along from either side of her extreme Type A personality parents!

Again, Elizabeth has a love for boxes. I was about to throw out an empty diaper box and she put up a fuss and went in sat in it, insisting it was her play house of the day. Another simple joy of a toddler!
Tonight I thought I would have pictures from Hunter’s wrestling meet but he was too fast for me! He was proud to have two pins and shared his gold medal with his little sister, which led to her parading around the house with it around her neck when we were all home tonight (in our freshly carpeted basement…we love house progress!). Hunter had his first full day of school today this week…due to the long spring blizzard earlier this week. I think Hunter missed his daily school routine! He was happy to tell us all about his day today and proclaimed “Thursdays are the best because we have Library and Keyboarding” which in the mind of the a 5th grade boy= less class room time. He then said “but I guess I have more home work”. He pointed out one advantage of the storm days earlier this week is that “there is no spelling test tomorrow!”.
My appointment today checked out perfectly wonderful. We heard a healthy heart beat of our sweet little baby. Elissa proclaimed “Hi Baby!” as the heartbeat was whizzing away and it of coursed melted all of us. At Elissa’s well check with Dr. K, she checked in at 33″ in length and 27 lbs. She had to have two shots and at her next appointment (when she is 18 m) she will have one more immunization and then not again until she is FIVE years old. It is hard to imagine Miss E at age 5! I wonder if she will still be playing in cardboard boxes??? Hunter will be 15 years old then…ahhh…a high schooler. Time will fly and we are joyful for each day.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
