Cousin gathering

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

This past Saturday we had a family gathering of Nathan’s mom side, the Strobel’s. It was to celebrate April family birthdays. We met up in Jamestown at Nathan’s uncle and aunt’s home for a day of food, visiting, laughter and plenty of playing for the kids. Hunter with Strobel cousins Austin and Connor who live about 40 minutes from us. Hunter loves talking basketball with their daddy Kevin who is a head basketball coach in a nearby town.
A favorite meal time past time of Elissa’s…playing hide n seek. She really thinks you cannot see her. (And if you have a little one and haven’t discovered Pampers disposable bibs…I recommend! Convenient, easy and no laundry to take home. I’m in advertising. I do free testimonials!)

Elissa’s favorite cousin Emma

Hunter played hide n seek and games with the kids. This was taken when I busted him in his hiding spot.

The younger generation and crew of cousins

Elizabeth LOVED Emma. It was her new word of the day, “Emma!”. She would make sure Emma was not out of sight for very long and would call her name if she could not find her.

April family birthdays…Tanya, Marge, Meghan, Gma Carol and Darwin
It was a grand birthday celebration! Baby Emersyn turned one in April also but Travis and Amber weren’t able to make the trek from southern MN.

The “older” cousins…not all were able to join us (we missed you Auntie Lori) but Kevin, Nathan, Sarah, Mike and spouses/families had fun catching up and watching the kids play.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
