Ethan came to visit

If you remember back to December, I threw a baby shower for my friend Katie LaBree. She and her husband welcomed their first child, a son named Ethan Henry on my BIRTHDAY in early January. Katie and Ethan came over for a visit while my mom, sister Kirsti and brother Joe visited this past weekend. Katie and I decided Ethan and Elizabeth can get married in thirty years. Ethan is going to be a catch. Good lookin‘, his mama rocks and a minister’s son.
Kirsti snapped some sweet pictures and sent them to me.
Elizabeth is enthralled with babies these days so visiting with Ethan was a treat. She says BABY all the time. She has a baby doll that she puts to bed each time she naps or goes to bed at night. Baby has a new bed that magically arrived via Ebay (need to blog about this in a different post…but all I can say I now LOVE EBAY and love deals…my mom laughs at me since I mocked her Ebaying for years) We tell Elissa there is a baby in my tummy. Yesterday though I was wearing a shirt with cherries on it and she just kept pointing to my tummy saying “Apple”. But many times she puts her mouth next to my tummy and says “Hi” and then points again and says “Baby!”
Hunter received clearance to play basketball. His team won their divison’s championship at their tournament on Saturday. Elissa miraculously survived sitting/ playing/ yelling/ eating pudding/ sleeping through three games over the course of five hours. Hunter still has wires in his mouth and will until Wednesday. The dentist said “WOW. Awesome” several times during Hunter’s appointment last Thursday. With out giving you gory details, Hunter’s teeth are healing better than expected and we are very hopeful that he will recover with maybe no teeth replacements or at a maximum one or two.
I haven’t posted any videos yet from our fabulously new Christmas gift from Nathan’s parents. I told Nathan last night that the video I downloaded didn’t have sound so could he please help me this week with it? He laughed and said of course he would help me but was wondering if I had read any directions. Silly question. He knows I don’t read directions. I’m Fred’s daughter after all. So as soon as my husband reads the directions and teaches me how to properly download video and post it, I will upload it to the blog. It will include some of Elissa’s latest word “Pleezb” when she really wants something, probably Hunter’s wrestling debut this season which may happen tomorrow…say a prayer that his teeth all stay in place and of course highlights from Nathan’s birthday tomorrow.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
