Simple pleasures for a curious 13 month old girl… Toilets flush. Exciting.
Toilet paper. She rips it off and wipes the floor with it. Or does a fake cough and covers her mouth like it is a tissue.

Again. Toilet flushing while holding shower cleaner. She must be ready for potty training if she loves to flush toilets?

The shower curtain makes for an excellent “peek a boo” place. And in every bath or shower is a bottle of shower cleaner. She cannot use it yet but the bottle is so colorful.

Flashback to 1987:
Elizabeth always playing with the toilet flusher actually reminded me of a fond memory of my younger brother Robbie. He was always was “fixing” the toilet flusher when he was a young boy with his tool kit. Anyone remember what he called it? He called it the “druggie”. We don’t know why other than the influence of those 1980’s “just say no to drugs” commercials that he saw in between Duck Tale episodes. He also once ran to tell our dear mother I was frying him “drugs” for breakfast as I scrambled eggs on a Saturday morning because of that television commercial with the egg in the frying pan “this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs…” Ahh Robbie yes you still make me laugh when I think of toilet flushers and eggs.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
