Snow bunny

Elissa the snow bunny…sporting her new sweater dress from Auntie K with stylish snow boots her daddy bought her. She loves watching the kitties out the window who eat their “yum yum” as she says on the deck. Elizabeth’s newest word yesterday was “Boppa” for Grandpa Fred. My mom said she heard E say “Boppa Ted” a few times. This morning in her high chair while my dad and I were sitting with her, she said “Boppa ALL DONE” which meant “Grandpa Fred I am all done eating my breakfast. Now get me out of here.”

Yesterday we visited our Iris…five generations represented between Elizabeth and Iris. Always a special and fun visit. We then went over to visit our friends the Millette’s. All the visiting wore Elissa out and a nap was needed.

Dad helping in the kitchen? He is always on clean up patrol but on holidays you might catch him ricing potatoes.

Christmas Eve present distribution following our family Christmas program
The final part of the program is always either Grandpa Sonny or my dad reading the Christmas story from Luke in the Bible. Then we sing Silent Night…and then finally the kids can hand out presents and open.

Hunter’s Santa excitement on Christmas morning

Nathan training his dog child Charlie to do a Christmas run on the treadmill. Charlie and I did venture out for a Christmas Day walk. Nathan, Eldon, Joe, Wyatt, Logan and Hunter all went snowmobiling together on Christmas Day. Nathan and I also went out for a bit too. There is a lot of powdery snow at the farm which makes for fun snowmobiling. This morning we have new snow…at least 5 inches of it.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
