Hiding spot

Where you ask is Elissa’s newest hiding spot?
It’s the newly finished tinder box next to our fireplace.

The tinder box soon will be filled with firewood which for now is neatly stacked outside.
Nathan roughly figured out the hours he and his dad put into building and installing the fireplace, plus the fan system, chimney, etc. He thinks every other finishing detail in the house plus the deck would be finished right now if they had not built the fireplace and tinder box. That is how it goes. Regardless, I am still holding out for our shower to be finished. I can keep waiting. I am full of patience after all…
Okay quit your chuckles. I am not patient but I have learned patience through house building. I do not have a brain cell that understands how to build anything (genetically traced back to my father) so any house project that is finished is a tremendous accomplishment in my mind.
And Elizabeth loves her new hiding spot. She says “Thanks Daddy and Grandpa Eldon”.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
