Sunrise this morning…along with high line poles

My anniversary flowers are in their last days. Nathan first used a flower to tickle Elissa’s face last night. Now this morning she grabbed one when Hunter was holding her and tickled his face.

Elizabeth helped out this morning by emptying the dishwasher. You can see the sunrise coming through the window in the background.

We went back to the doctor early yesterday for a re-check and Elizabeth is on the mend. Friday night and Saturday were long days but by Saturday night her fever was gone and she is back to her spunky self again today. She slept from 7PM last night to 6:30AM this morning. WHOA–that is a record.

Today Hunter has piano lessons. He is preparing for his piano festival on November 22. It is great because his teacher holds the lessons at the school and Hunter has his lesson during the day with her.
I have been trying to get some quick video of Elissa taking a few steps but whenever I try she gets down on her knees and does her crazy crawl towards me. Someday soon…
On Sunday afternoon and evening, I went with a few other moms and took my Sunday School class of 6th, 7th and 8th graders to the PULSE event in Bismarck. Hunter also attended. In total we had 15 people there. It was an awesome and impactful event. We heard the Christian rock bands Need to Breathe and my favorite Third Day. You can learn more about PULSE by clicking here. Another fun part of PULSE was that Kirsti was four rows in front of us with a few friends! She took a few pictures and I will post those later this week.
And finally today, please vote. I am a motivated voter as most of you know. Today though all I will say is VOTE. No matter how long the line is, exercise your right to vote. A hundred years ago our grandmothers and great grandmothers did not have the right to vote. It is now our right and duty ladies!

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
