Sunrise from the porch

My friend Michelle called this week and asked if I was drinking coffee on my porch. I wasn’t. Instead I was in my office working. I was still drinking coffe though. But I do love love love sunrises and sunsets on our porch. Here is a quick shot I took from the porch. The porch faces southwest so I cranked around to get this shot. We wake up each morning now and its dark outside and slowly the whole sky to the east turns purplish pink and then to orangy pink and it is my favorite time of day. And since we don’t have any blinds…we see the full sunrise each morning. There is no traffic and no one looking in our windows. Oh except on Sunday mornings when people need to go on a drive after church.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
