Live from St. Louis

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Today as my colleagues and I exited the board room we are working from in St. Louis, I noticed a tremendous amount of policemen in our hotel lobby including bomb sniffing dogs circling me. Then I saw a man in a business suit holding a three ring binder with the label “CHENEY” on it. I asked the policeman at at the local Starbucks that we walked to about it. Indeed Vice President Dick Cheney is here giving a speech just down the road and is coming to our hotel to “take a nap” according to the law enforcement. Now our hotel is on lock down while Cheney is here. The Secret Service even are in the bathroom! A large burly Secret Service man smiled when I asked if I could get a picture. I harassed my colleague enough until he went to his car and got his camera. I might have a PAST reputation of sweet talking my way back stage at concerts which led me to meeting some of my favorite singers and bands. That phase has ended with my age. However sweet talking my way through the Secret Service to get a picture with Dick Cheney? I decided to not exhaust myself with it.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
