57 years ago today, my maternal grandparents were married in their home church where they still are members today. They grew up just down the road from one another in rural ND. Their families were friends and they attended school in the same one room school house. But Grandpa was five years older. It was not until he returned from WWII to attend college at NDSU that he started dating Miss Nola who was already a student there and completing her degree. Today they have 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. And they have had a tremendous positive impact on my life and many others. (Note: I made Grandma’s Crock Pot Steak Supreme recipe on Saturday night…and Nathan said it was one of the best meals I have ever made!)
