Wheat harvest

Filed Under: America's Farm Table Tagged With: agriculture, farm 1 Comment

Hunter spent a majority of the long weekend on a combine with Grandpa Fred, Uncle Joe or Great Grandpa Sonny and an occasional ride with Uncle Robbie in the grain cart. Elissa sported her “work clothes” (note she prefers to NOT wear her work boots though) and got her first tour of harvest in full swing by delivering meals to the field. The crew (finally!) finished the wheat while we were at the farm and now they are getting ready for beans to begin in a few weeks.

Love her pic in the wheat fields…I was walking a road in Greenville, Sc over the weekend and I was in the midst of cows and prairies…I really thought I was in North Dakota and it made me smile 🙂

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
