Pray for Shelly

Filed Under: Family Values Tagged With: faith, love, prayer, praying Leave a Comment

Our friend Shelly Bethke was diagnosed with incurable cancer in August. Please pray for Shelly, daughters Jenna and Jillian and her husband Steve. Their daughter Jenna is a freshman in college and Jill is in high school. Please also pray for Shelly’s doctors, her strength and for a miraculous healing. Miracles happen. The power of prayer is needed.
Steve and Nathan used to work together and have shared many good times together. Shelly and I became friends through their connection. We traveled with the Bethke’s to and from Cancun in May 2007. We had a blast. The weather was perfect. Nathan and Steve spent a majority of their time body surfing. Shelly and I made sure we got up early to save cabanas so we could snooze in the afternoons. It was one of those trips you will never forget and always look back on as a unique and special time. Above is a picture of our group in Cancun. I know Steve and Shelly check the Pinke Post and hope this picture makes you smile! I resisted posting body surfing pictures!
For all of you praying for Shelly and the Bethke family. I want you to see who you are praying for…Steve and Shelly are on the far left of the picture and Shelly is wearing a black floral dress. In addition, you can read more about Shelly’s fight against cancer at their Caring Bridge web site at:

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
