Life gets busy

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Life gets very busy when school starts. And we don’t get to road trip as much to see my family. And they haven’t gotten far enough south to see us. So here are some pictures from late summer to remind them all to come visit!!! Kirsti is busy playing volleyball, going to class and of course spare time with boyfriend Mike who is now officially a cop. Robbie is busy with farming on the weekends, hopefully going to class as it is his LAST semester before student teaching and he also has spare time with a girlfriend. And then little Joey Poey…he is a college freshman. Enough said. An early summer morning when we could have been sleeping but instead Auntie K and I were up with our early bird baby–who by the way has started sleeping through the night over the past few weeks…on occasion. Sleep is the most tremendous gift!
These are from Labor Day weekend…but I am hopeful that maybe it will make our Mama Jane and Grandpa Fred come see us soon.
Love this onesie from Gma Nola and Gpa Sonny…you can come see soon too. Grandma’s friend Florence actually lives in our town. No kidding Florence was my Gma Nola’s sorority little sister in college and a bridesmaid in my grandparent’s wedding 57 years ago. And before our house was done, we lived in a rental house next door to Florence. Small small world.
The Godfathers Robbie and Joe…yes that is purchased baby food that Robbie is feeding our dear baby. Not to worry I am still gangbusters on making homemade baby food with the famed Baby Beaba. Just when we travel we go with the purchased food. Elizabeth has gotten a bit pickier with her eating habits lately so my combinations are more unique. She turns her nose up at plain carrots or plain peas. She needs more complex flavors now like sweet potatoes with ground chicken.

I am out of town on business for a couple days and don’t have my recent pictures to post. I always miss my kiddios and hubby but it is great to have Nathan at home in the evenings and not both of us traveling like it was in our former life. Plus life in a small town with Grandma Carol and Grandpa Eldon to entertain is quite grand for Hunter and Elizabeth.
This weekend I will post photos of Hunter playing basketball, Elizabeth’s latest and greatest accomplishments…and then we also have new construction…a porch in process.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
