For Jill

This weekend only my mom is selling around 75 wreaths at the Little Falls, MN Arts and Crafts Fair on Saturday and Sunday. All proceeds from the wreaths as well as numerous other handmade and hand sewn items made by my mom’s longtime friend Ava and daughters Liz and Jill will be for sale. All proceeds go directly to Jill and her husband Brian for their expenses in adopting a child from Kahzakstan. Jill and Brian are unable to have children and have decided adoption is best for them to begin a family. Fundraising is needed as they have already incurred tremendous costs in trying to start a family and now we are going to sell sell sell so they can adopt very soon! This will be a nostalgic time for us. Ava and my mom have been sewing for thirty years and in the 1980’s sold hand made little girls clothes with the tag inside that said “avajane“. Now they are going to be selling at a craft fair again together with their daughters and granddaughter because Elissa is making the trip with us.
If you are able to make it to Little Falls this weekend, Jill’s booth is A 02. There are 100,000 people expected to attend so we are looking forward to a great time!

Ah! We’ll see you there Katie. G and I will be there in our Two Peas booth. It’ll be a fun weekend and I hope we can catch up with each other.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
