Today Elizabeth Carolyn Jane is 9 months old. She is our Elizabeth, Elissa or ECJ. This past month has been full of exciting changes for Elissa. Crawling, pulling her self to stand, standing one handed and then creeping around the edges of furniture. Crawling is hilarious because it is actually a modified version. We call her “Gimpy” often as she crawls because she really is trying to walk/crawl and drags one leg behind…I guess I actually need to put to video for you to get the full understanding but it is quite a sight. Elissa is full of life, cheer, excitement and as my mom said this weekend is a “real tiger” at 5:15AM when she has decided it is time to be awake for the day. Regardless of the time of day, she is a constant family joy. Her brother Hunter can make her laugh at any moment and she affectionately calls him “Hata”. A new favorite hang out is the local small town park- near our house and full of swings and slides. You can hear Elizabeth’s sqeals of glee echoing around town when we are there.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
