Reese comes up short

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I shed a few tears for Reese Hoffa last night. He was my teammate–and friend at UGA. Reese still trains with Don Babbitt in Athens, GA. They have been talking about, training and preparing for the Beijing Olympics for many, many years. Reese went in the favorite in the men’s shotput and came up short with out a medal. Hunter couldn’t believe it but it is a lesson learned for the soon to be eleven year old boy. No matter how hard you work, no matter what else you have won, no matter what other people say, it doesn’t give you a win. And sometimes life just isn’t fair.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
