Visit to Iris

Elizabeth and I visited our very special Great Great Great Grand Aunt Iris who was born in 1905 and is a 1928 UND graduate. She is sharp as a tact. We cherish our hand written letters that arrive often from Iris in our post office mail box but a visit is always worth the drive. Iris has been my pen pal since I was child (same for my mother and grandmother) and has been a cherished friend and special aunt. To have her hold our daughter and read her a story is more than special. And I will never forget when she walked over to the hospital from her apartment nearly eleven years ago after Hunter was born to visit us. It is rare gift to have a person like Iris in your life. Iris was a librarian for many years and enjoyed reading to Elissa.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
