A birthday on St. Paddy’s Day

Happy Birthday Nathan! Hunter divided Nathan’s age by two and put that number of candles on the cake which is a great math problem for a fourth grader. So we celebrated Nathan’s “sweet 16” with a party at Nathan’s parents house tonight. And you might wonder if I made that beautiful cake…actually you probably are not wondering. Nathan’s mom of course made the beautiful and tasty cake. Quite frankly, I don’t own a cake stand. I did buy Nathan a freshly made at Stan’s Super Valu Bavarian cream filled bismark and put in a candle in it for him at lunch today, along with a birthday gift of a coffee mug that says “Life with a Norweigian Builds Character”! And Charlie the dog child gave Nathan a card and a gift…a pack of his favorite treat, American cheese slices. The vet says “no more cheese for Charlie” but Charlie was hoping Nathan would give in and share some cheese with his doggie on Nathan’s birthday!

Happy Birthday Nathan! Elissa looks like she grows more every new picture I see. Hope she is adjusting well to her other babysitters

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
