Waiting for the school bus

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Waiting for the school bus. I snapped this picture this morning and it is a favorite. We have our simple morning routine. Hunter cannot leave the house with out some time with Elizabeth. He missed the bus once last week while playing with her so now he waits diligently by the window in the kitchen watching for the bus to round the corner and holds her. I need to stand close by because he yells “BUS!” and that is my cue that he is running out the door. I think he would take her along to school if he could.

Happy girl in the morning.

Elissa says, “My mommy looks hilarious in the morning. She looks like she needs more sleep and more coffee!”

Some play time with the new Bumbo the UPS driver delivered us.

Motivating factor for completing our new home…Elissa needs a bigger crib soon in her own bedroom. Although we love the antique bassinet on wheels. Nathan and his dad are pumping 55 gallons of primer on the walls this weekend in the new house. Nathan’s bedtime reading one night this week was the manual to the new paint sprayer. Nothing like a new power tool to get a guy excited about house projects. I gave my final paint color decisions to Nathan and I can’t look at paint swatches anymore. You can only analyze hilton head cream vs. chamois, lemon sorbet vs. lemon drop, georgian brick vs. pumice stone, etc. etc. etc. for so long before you become completely compulsive and nutty.

A morning cat nap…wearing her favorite mittens which she still chews on but they don’t taste as good as her fists.

Ready for an outing in the cozy snowsuit from the AdFarm gals

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
