Why Jump the Corporate Wheel

Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

But working for layers of hierarchy in big business is nothing compared to living on the prairie, owning a family business, having control of your destiny and truly being able to impact change in your business and family’s future.
Rather than climb, climb, climb up that long corporate ladder, we decided together to jump. Four years ago this month, after enjoying the beaches of Mexico on a business sales award trip, my husband resigned, walking away from corporate glory and success to take on the risks and rewards of becoming the second generation of his family’s business. He traded his Hugo Boss suits for Carhartts. He turned his company’s foreign made SUV with insurance and a gas card for an American made diesel pick-up. Together we moved deep into the North Dakota prairie with our son.

Welcome to the Prairie…

I am a mom of three kids and a wife to Nathan. Together we live on the North Dakota prairie, 97 miles from a Starbuck's. I share about family, food, farming and the prairie that I love. I used to commute 98 miles one-way to work but it required too much coffee. So now I am home, consulting, speaking, writing and primarily, juggling family life.
