We spent a few days on the farm and today before we headed home our cousins from Des Moines, IA came to visit. Cousin Evan was anxious to see his favorite person on the farm, my dad who Evan named “Combine Fred” when he was just a little boy. It (thankfully) rained after the swathed barley was harvested and the combines were not going today. However I went with Evan, his daddy Eric and “Combine Fred” to the combine shed this afternoon so Evan could climb around his favorite machines with his favorite farmer.

After church and Sunday dinner, the boys played baseball in the yard. Colton, Hunter and Joe played while Elissa persuaded her Uncle Robbie to give her a shoulder ride around the yard. Actually I am sure it was Robbie’s idea because then he always knew where she was!
On our first night in the field, Elissa was wearing her tractor tank top but was only interested in visiting the field, not riding on the combine. Uncle Joe stopped his combine when we brought him his supper and pointed everything around the field out to her. It is adorable to see how much Joe loves Elissa.
Hunter spent a few days in the field on the grain cart with Uncle Robbie or in a combine with Gpa Fred or Uncle Joe. Our time at the farm was Hunter’s end of the summer wrap up as school begins this week. It was a great time.
My mom gave me an amazing gift during our time at the farm. Childcare! We drove to Fargo on Friday and spent the night there. A majority of the time my mom took care of the girls in a hotel room across the street from the FargoDome while I attended Beth Moore on Friday night and Saturday morning. I would not and could not have gone if it was not for my mom insisting that I attend and volunteering to take care of Elizabeth and Anika while I was there.
I am going to blog about my experience at Beth Moore later this week. Renewal. Uplifting. Awesome. Life changing. It was the first Beth Moore event I have ever attended and if I can attend a live event annually, I will. LADIES, if Beth Moore will be speaking in your area as in any where you can drive to within reason, GO GO GO. There were women from 22 states and Canada there this weekend. In upcoming years, I hope many of you will join me at a Beth Moore event. Okay…now I will save to time to “talk” about Beth Moore later this week.
